Schneider Theater
Directed by Randy Reyes
Travel back to the roaring 20’s in a magical, mythical musical set in a time when bobbing your hair and rolling your stockings were considered daring. Thoroughly Modern Millie is a high-spirited musical romp that is filled with frisky flappers, dashing leading men and a dragon-lady of a villainess audiences will love to hate.
It’s 1922—young Millie Dillmount has just moved to New York City in search of a new life for herself. It's an atmosphere full of intrigue and jazz—a time when women were entering the workforce and the rules of love and social behavior were changing forever. Based on the popular movie, the stage version of Thoroughly Modern Millie includes a full score of new songs and bright dance numbers.
Music by Jeanine Tesori
New lyrics by Dick Scanlan
Book by Richard Morris and Dick Scanlon
Thoroughly Modern Millie opened on Broadway in 2002 and won six Tony Awards including Best Musical and five Drama Desk Awards including Outstanding Musical.
